Beekeeping Experience Day

Manchester Honey Company will be offering Beekeeper taster days at our Apiary in Sale Animal Sanctuary this year. These 4 hour sessions are specifically designed for bee lovers who would like the opportunity to learn more about these fascinating insects. We'll start the day with a quick recap about Honeybees in our onsite class room and then head out to inspect some of the hives: You'll get the opportunity to learn about:

• The lifecycle of a honey bee.
• The workings of a hive and the different type's of bee inside.
• How honey is produced and how taste varies between location (you'll get chance to try all our honey!)
• A chance to hands-on with a colony inspection and see the queen (if you can spot her!)

All protective clothing will be provided. You'll need to bring a pair of wellies.

Please note: The minimum age for this session is 16 years.
