Our Sale apiary is situated at the Sale Animal Sanctuary, a protected wildlife haven. This honey’s unique taste is shaped by the delicate nectar of early spring willow and lime trees, followed by the later blossoms of wildflowers that gracefully blanket the banks of the River Mersey. Earning 2 stars in the 2023 Great Taste Awards, this is consistently the public's favourite at our tasting events. Described as "exactly what you think honey should be," it boasts a light orange colour, a smooth mid-consistency, and a highly pleasant citrus and floral aftertaste.
Our Raw & Pure Promise
At the Manchester Honey Company, our philosophy is simple: Raw & Pure.
Raw: We never pasteurise our honey. It is simply spun from the comb and coarsely filtered, preserving all the natural enzymes, pollen, and health benefits exactly as the bees intended.
Pure: We absolutely never feed our bees sugar syrup, ensuring this honey is 100% natural floral nectar. Furthermore, we never treat our hives with chemical miticides, guaranteeing our honey is completely free from adulteration.
Artisanal Beekeeping Expertise
We are passionate about the science and craft of apiculture. By carefully tracking queen lineage and utilizing selective bee breeding, we maintain strong, healthy colonies native to the Manchester environment. We employ automated smart sensors for continuous hive monitoring, and we strictly only harvest and record honey yields during our dedicated seasonal extraction. This ensures the bees have the time they need to naturally cure the honey to perfection.
PRODUCT INFO
This is a 340g jar of local honey created by bees from our Manchester apiaries. Every batch will be unique and will taste of the flowers that our honeybees have visited in the local area. Pure honey may crystalise at low temperatures; this can be reversed by gently warming. Each jar contains 340g of unpasteurised, raw & pure honey.
